Author Commentary: Can I carry your purse?
What do I do? My husband started putting his stuff in my purse. Maybe, he needs to get his own purse. The other day I looked down at my purse and saw his glasses sticking out.
“What is this?” I said.
“Oh honey, it is so nice that you use a purse now. Can’t you carry some of my things once and a while?”
I think my eyes actually crossed at that point. This idea of sharing space is not what I had in mind. If other women are sharing purse space, there should be no doubt as to why women have more neck pain than men. Men are a pain in the neck sometimes.

On vacations, my family members often try to sneak their sunglasses, wallets, cameras, even water bottles (!) into my purse. I have to remind them I am NOT their pack mule. Everyone carries their own “stuff” or else my neck and back are shot by the end of the day and possibly for the length of the vacation!
