Sex and the City is Bad for Your Health
Ladies, you are about to be lured into the Sex and the City world where shopping sprees, heavy purses, and high-heeled shoes are encouraged. But, if you follow that path, you will discover that being a woman can be a pain in the back!
Carrie and company have influenced an entire generation of women with unhealthy habits like the high heels (a borderline addiction for Carrie Bradshaw). More and more young women feel that these fashion shoes (created by short men in ancient Egypt) are a wardrobe necessity. Wearing high heels all day, everyday leads to back, leg and foot pain. Nothing is fashionable about chronic pain and surgery.
The essential problem with teetering on your tip toes is the misalignment of your entire body including your back. A misaligned spine leads to disc herniations. Cramming your toes into pointy shoes leads to bunions. Walking on spiked-heels leads to sprained ankles. Just ask some ladies who have spent their entire lives in high-heeled shoes (like Dolly Parton who just cancelled her tour due to severe back pain, and Tina Turner does not look too comfortable either), we cannot allow this trend to continue for the sake of our health.
Some women resist giving up the shoes that make them feel “sexy”. Looking sexy is really a reflection of your self-confidence. Some women could make a paper bag look sexy because sexy is about attitude, posture, poise and grace. Quite frankly, some of those high heels are known as “CFMP’s” (come f*** me pumps). That message is not becoming and will not earn you respect.
So, while you are sitting in the movie theatre this week being entertained by the “fab four”, please remember that nothing feels good about shopping sprees, heavy purses, and high-heeled shoes. These unhealthy habits seen on the silver screen should not be imitated by you in the real world where pain can become your reality. Being a woman does not have to be a pain in the back.

Oh, that was funny information about the invention of high heels…..I have never really understood why an article of clothing that so clealy distorts the human body, and causes pain, and also interferes with normal movement could be considered sexy!
I mean, look at those pictures of barefoot African women carrying baskets on their heads….they look amazing! Way more elegant and sexy than ladies teetering in high heels with pinched toes and backs being wrenched around by pain!
Oh, I’m not saying we should be carrying baskets on our heads instead of purses!
