A Knife in the Back

To have surgery or not to have surgery, that is the question on many people’s minds that have back pain. Critically evaluating the risks and potential benefits is the key to determining if a surgery is necessary or advisable at all. Unfortunately, as this article points out, many surgeons will operate on anything that walks through the doors just for the sake of making money. Healthcare is a business after all and as eloquently stated here, “The culture of medicine fosters lucrative networks of referrals and procedures”. Not in my hometown! If that’s what you think, think again. Every corner of this world is experiencing “a knife in the back”. So, think twice before you cut.
