Your back is like a bank account. Pain means that you owe money. If you write acheck without enough money in the “account”, the check is bad because your account is overdrawn. You have to make deposits throughout the day to keep money in the bank and stay out of pain.
Here is alist of potential bad checks and deposits. Keep your account balanced.
Back Account Withdrawals:
- Loading and Unloading ANYTHING
- Mopping or Vacuuming
- Going up or down stairs
- Reaching overhead
- Reading with bi-focal eye glasses (neck)
- Riding in a vehicle
- Drinking out of a water fountain
- Pushing a shopping cart
- Getting on or off toilet
- Using a rolling pin
- Getting dressed
- Using fitness equipment
- Standing on one leg
- \Rolling Over in Bed
Back Account Deposits:
- Auto-traction
- Sitting in ergonomic reclining chair
- Doing home exercises as directed and OFTEN
- Wearing well cushioned shoes, always
- Paying attention to body mechanics, vigilantly
